An intriguing move. Gennaro Gattuso to take charge of the Italian national team next week

In the coming days, Gennaro Gattuso will be appointed as the new head coach of the Italian national team. Several reputable sources, including renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, have reported the news.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the contract signing is expected next week. For the 46-year-old specialist, this will mark his debut at the helm of a national team. Previously, Gattuso worked exclusively at the club level, managing sides such as Milan, Napoli, Marseille, Valencia, as well as Palermo, Pisa, Swiss club Sion, and Greek team OFI (Crete). His most recent stint was with Croatian side Hajduk, which he left at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Now, the legendary former midfielder has a chance to breathe new life into the Azzurri following a string of disappointing performances on the international stage. Under his leadership, the team faces a tough battle to qualify for the World Cup.
