Mancini would like to lead the Italian national team again
Roberto Mancini left the Italian national team, but amid the squad's disappointing results, he is ready to return to the helm.
Details: In an interview with Gazzetta, the coach admitted that there's nothing better than managing the national team. He wants to return to the place where he was truly happy.
Quote: “I've won with clubs, but winning with Italy is something completely different. Besides, you always want to go back to where you were happy. I felt fantastic in Coverciano, the atmosphere there was truly incredible. Without a doubt, it would be a huge challenge, a big risk. But sometimes you have to take risks, right?” Mancini noted.
He also admitted that leaving the Italian national team was a mistake. Roberto emphasized that he bears personal responsibility for that decision.
Quote: “It's true that I no longer felt the same level of trust as before, but I should have discussed it with the president. I could have done it, and that's my fault. Today, who knows, maybe we would still be working together, trying to qualify for the World Cup. Maybe even after a second Euro victory,” Mancini added.
Earlier, it was reported that the match against Moldova was Luciano Spalletti's last as head coach of the Italian national team. Now, the federation's leadership is concerned about finding a replacement, which could turn out to be quite surprising.
Reminder: Among the main candidates, former Hajduk manager Gennaro Gattuso was mentioned.
