With less than a week to go until the end of the transfer window, Liverpool still haven't made a single purchase. But, according to journalists, this is for a reason.

David Lynch has said that Liverpool's incoming transfers could be linked to outgoing transfers, meaning purchases could be dependent on sales. But signings towards the end of the window cannot be ruled out.

Lynch also assures that Liverpool are working in secrecy on incoming transfers to avoid the embarrassment of likely failure with high-profile purchases:

‘I asked someone two or three days ago close to the club if it could be ruled out now as there's not much time left in terms of incoming arrivals and they said, ‘No, don't rule it out just yet.’

It's not that moment yet. There is potential to add to the squad. The opportunity still exists, I just think the names are being kept very, very quiet at the moment,’ Lynch said on the Anfield Index podcast.

Recall that Liverpool are close to transfer Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
