Alex Iwobi is on the brink of a historic milestone as he prepares to make his 100th appearance for the Nigeria in Wednesday’s international friendly against Portugal in Leiria.

The 30-year-old midfielder currently sits on 99 international caps and is expected to become only the fourth player in Nigeria’s history to reach the coveted century mark. If he features in the match, he will join an elite group that includes former Super Eagles captains Joseph Yobo, Vincent Enyeama, and Ahmed Musa.

Iwobi made his senior debut for Nigeria in October 2015 and has since grown into one of the most reliable and consistent performers in the national team setup. Over the years, he has played a key role across multiple qualification campaigns and major tournaments, becoming a mainstay in midfield.
