Ahmed Elmohamady, who used to be the captain of Egypt’s soccer team, is standing up for Mohamed Salah after Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool player, made some negative comments about him.
Carragher recently said that Salah was being selfish and not thinking about the team when he talked publicly about his contract talks with Liverpool. Carragher also mentioned Salah’s agent’s mysterious tweets, which he thought made Salah look bad.
In reply, Elmohamady posted Carragher’s tweet on his official X account and wrote: "Jamie, stop picking on Mohamed Salah. José Mourinho was right about you."
This comment about Mourinho refers to something the Portuguese coach said in 2015, when he criticized Carragher for talking too much. He’s not even in the top 1,000 defenders in football history. How can someone who never won the Premier League talk about what it takes to win it?”
Elmohamady’s defense adds fuel to the ongoing debate over Salah’s future at Liverpool.
