Mikel Arteta is adamantly opposed to 19-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly leaving Arsenal during the winter transfer window, according to insider Fabrizio Romano.
The young defender is considered one of the most gifted footballers in the Premier League, so interest from Chelsea and other clubs comes as no surprise. However, the Gunners have completely ruled out the possibility of his departure.
According to the insider, the club is also taking into account Calafiori's frequent injuries and does not want to risk squad depth during the crucial second half of the season. Arsenal are targeting silverware and have no intention of weakening the squad, even amid interest from other clubs in loaning the 19-year-old defender. That's why there are no real prerequisites for his departure in January.
