African Legends Set to Light Up AFCON 2025 Final Draw Ceremony
The stage's set for historic evening with the presence of many African football legends, to attend the draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals, which will be held on Monday, January 27, at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat.
The guests are: Essam El Hadary (Egypt), Patrick Mboma (Cameroon), Aymen Mathlouthi (Tunisia) and Gervinho (Ivory Coast), these names have been etched in the annals of african football history.
The ceremony will start at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT) and will see these iconic players honored for their contributions to their team's success at the Africa Cup of Nations and beyond.
El Hadary, the oldest player in world cup history at 45, has a wealth of experience, having won 4 Africa Cup of Nations titles with egypt, while Mboma helped cameroon win back to back africa cup of nations titles in 2000 and 2002, and was voted african footballer of the Year in 2000.
Mathlouthi, who played key role in tunisia's africa cup of nations campaigns, and Gervinho, who won the africa cup of nations in 2015, underlines the importance of the tournament.
The draw will determine the groups of the 24 teams, including host morocco, ahead of the tournament scheduled to be held from december 2025 to january 2026 across different moroccan cities.
