Arsenal secured a hard-fought victory over Brentford (2:1) in the 28th round of the English Premier League. The winning goal for Mikel Arteta's team came from a precise strike by Kai Havertz late in the match.

This victory marks Arsenal's eighth consecutive win in the Premier League. The last time the Gunners dropped points in the league was in the final match of the previous year, when they lost to Fulham on December 31st.

Arsenal becomes only the fourth team in Premier League history to win their first eight matches of the year. Prior to this, such a streak at the start of the year was achieved by Manchester United in 2009, Liverpool in 2020, and Manchester City in 2021.

Notably, all three of these teams went on to become champions of England at the end of the season.

With 64 points in the bag, Arsenal has climbed to the top of the Premier League table. The other two title contenders, Liverpool and Manchester City, will face each other on Sunday, March 10th.
