The match had already delivered plenty of drama before the comeback. Trey Nyoni opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 25th minute, but Mason Greenwood responded just four minutes later with a deflected free-kick.
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola introduced Florian Wirtz, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak in the 66th minute. The decision appeared to pay off immediately, with Isak heading home Gakpo's cross to put the English side back in front.
However, Fenerbahce completely changed the course of the encounter. Brown's equaliser brought the hosts level once again, and another goal put the Istanbul club ahead in a dramatic second-half turnaround. The match is still underway.
It is worth noting that Fenerbahce entered this match without a victory in their first three Champions League league-phase fixtures, collecting just two points. Meanwhile, Liverpool had won all three of their previous matches in the competition.
