A serious blow for Alonso. Chelsea's leader not even named in the squad for the Tottenham clash
Chelsea forward Joao Pedro will unexpectedly miss the London derby against Tottenham in the eighth round of the Premier League. The Brazilian is not even among the substitutes.
The forward's absence comes as unwelcome news for the Blues' supporters, as he is the team's leading scorer this season. In six Premier League appearances, Joao Pedro has scored five goals and provided three assists.
The reason why the forward was left out of the squad for this high-profile clash has not been disclosed. There are still no official details regarding a possible injury or any other circumstances behind his absence.
Losing one of their key attacking players could prove a serious test for Chelsea in the derby against Tottenham. All eyes will now be on whether the team can make up for the Brazilian's absence and secure a positive result in this important Premier League fixture.
