France and Spain will face off in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with two of football's biggest stars set to renew their growing rivalry.

Details: According to Opta, Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal will come up against each other for the 11th time in their careers. Of their previous 10 meetings, Yamal and his teams have emerged victorious on eight occasions.

Meanwhile, Les Bleus have lost seven of their last 10 meetings with Spain over the past two decades. It is the highest number of defeats France have suffered against any single opponent during that period.

Reminder: FIFA president Gianni Infantino is continuing to push his proposal to expand the 2030 FIFA World Cup to 64 participating teams.
