A La Liga team is close to signing a legendary German center-back
Legendary central defender Mats Hummels left Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the German center-back is now close to signing a contract with La Liga club Real Sociedad. An official offer has already been made, and the Basque team expects it to be accepted. Final details are currently being resolved, and Real Sociedad is confident they will receive the green light and announce Hummels' transfer soon.
The club believes that the 35-year-old German fits perfectly into their style of play and could effectively replace Robin Le Normand, who recently moved to Atlético Madrid.
Previously, it was reported that Hummels was in negotiations with Brighton. He has also attracted interest from Como, Bologna, and Juventus.
Last season, Hummels made 40 appearances for Borussia Dortmund across all competitions, scoring four goals.
Over his career with the "Black and Yellows," the central defender has played 508 matches, scoring 38 goals and providing 23 assists. Hummels was also part of Jürgen Klopp's legendary team that won the Bundesliga title twice.
