A Jordanian referee to take charge of the England - DR Congo clash

Adham Makhadmeh has been appointed by FIFA to referee this round of 32 match at the 2026 World Cup.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo will play the first match in its history in the knockout stages of the World Cup on Wednesday 1 July. The Leopards will take on England at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
This clash will be officiated by a trio of Jordanian referees. Adham Makhadmeh will be the referee, assisted by his compatriots Mohammad Alkalaf and Ahmad Alroalle. Saudis Khalid Alturais and Mohammed Alabakry have been appointed as the fourth and fifth officials.
