A historic first: Guimarães scores directly from a corner against Burnley

During Matchweek 15 of the English Premier League, Newcastle United hosted Burnley. It didn't take long for Bruno Guimarães to make headlines in the first half.

The Brazilian midfielder for the Magpies opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a sensational strike directly from a corner kick. Remarkably, this was just the 20th goal in Premier League history to be scored in such a fashion. Even more significant, Guimarães became the first Newcastle player ever to achieve this feat in the Premier League era.

By the 60th minute, the Magpies were leading 2-0. Gordon added another goal, while the Clarets were reduced to ten men after Lucas Pérez was sent off.
