A blow for Arteta. Edu Gaspar will step down as Arsenal's sporting director

Arsenal's sporting director Edu Gaspar has unexpectedly decided to leave his position.

Details: According to the Daily Mail, the executive will step down after five years with the London club. The exact reason for this decision is still unknown. However, one possible explanation is that the club has made some adjustments in the hierarchy of responsibilities.

It is reported that the news of Edu Gaspar’s departure has been a major blow for Mikel Arteta and the club. Last season, Arsenal and Manchester City competed for the title, and Edu Gaspar is considered one of the key figures who made that possible.

Reminder: In the last round, Arsenal lost to Newcastle. Overall, Mikel Arteta's team has had a rocky start to the season, with only five wins, two losses, and three draws in ten rounds.

Additionally, Arsenal legend Ian Wright harshly criticized his former team’s performance in the match against Newcastle.
