A terrifying incident occurred on one of the football fields in the USA. In the city of Alton, Illinois, part of a football field collapsed into the ground.

According to Yahoo News, a surveillance camera captured the dramatic sinkhole formation in Gordon Moore Park. The sinkhole measures over 30 meters deep and 30 meters in diameter. Fortunately, no one was on the field at the time, and there were no injuries.

Preliminary reports indicate that the collapse was caused by an active mine.

"It was surreal, like something out of a movie where the ground just disappears beneath you. Mines have been in this area for decades. This issue had never been raised before, so I was told it's an anomaly. We will wait until the investigation is completed," said Michael Haynes, director of the city's Parks and Recreation Department.

All planned events have been canceled, and Gordon Moore Park has been closed until the sinkhole investigation is completed.
