The number of African nations remaining at the 2026 FIFA World Cup has dropped to six following the elimination of DR Congo from the tournament.

The Leopards became the latest African side to exit the competition after suffering a 2-1 defeat to England in the Round of 32. Despite taking an early lead, DR Congo were unable to hold on as Harry Kane inspired England's comeback to seal qualification.

DR Congo now joins Tunisia, South Africa, and Ivory Coast, whose World Cup campaigns have also come to an end.
