Once again, there is a flood of rumours and speculation surrounding the future of Josep Guardiola, but the Spaniard himself is reacting to it all with notable calm.

Details: Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Guardiola said he still has time left on his contract and stressed that he is happy and excited about the way the team is developing.

Quote: “Over the last three or four years, every time there’s a certain moment, you ask me about my future. So yes, sooner or later, at 75 or 76, I will leave Man City. I have 18 months left on my contract. I’m very pleased, happy and excited about the development of the team,” Guardiola said.

We recently reported that Manchester City’s hierarchy are considering Enzo Maresca as a potential head coach. If Pep Guardiola decides to step down after the 2025/26 season, the Chelsea manager would be the leading candidate for the role.

Reminder: Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola also commented on Oscar Bobb’s injury, which forced the youngster to leave the pitch in the 19th minute of the EFL Cup match.
