Zinedine Zidane is the main favorite for the position of head coach of the French national team
Legendary footballer and coach Zinedine Zidane remains the top candidate for the role of head coach of the French national team after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.
Details: According to insider Fabrizio Romano, there is currently only a verbal agreement with Zidane—no documents have been signed yet. Zinedine wishes to show respect to Didier Deschamps, who will step down only at the end of July.
The French Football Federation is now fully focused on preparing for the World Cup, but unless there are unforeseen surprises, Zidane is set to be named the next coach.
Zinedine previously managed only Real Madrid, leading the club to three consecutive Champions League titles.
Recall: PSG demands 180 million euros from Mbappé, with Kylian filing a counterclaim.
