Zambian coach Moses Sichone discharged from South African hospital following food poisoning suspicions
Moses Sichone has been discharged from hospital together with his video analyst Elias Chipota having spent almost the entire week at a Gqeberha hospital, St George.
The Zambian head coach could not lead his side from the bench in the current Fifa break due to suspected food poisoning ahead of their clash against Bafana Bafana last Saturday.
As a result, the coach could not see how his side lost 3-1 to Hugo Broos' Bafana. Having missed the game at Nelson Mandela bay Stadium, Sichone also missed their second friendly match in this international break, against Angola.
The team left South Africa without him and the video analyst as it meant their Fifa break will be spent in hospital while they recover. Chipolopolo lost 3-2 this time around against the Palancas Negras.
"We are happy to announce that Chipolopolo head coach Moses Sichone and Video Analyst Elias Chipota have been discharged from St George Hospital,” said Machacha Shepande as per FarPost.
“The duo is out of danger and has been allowed to leave the hospital after having recovered from their illness.
“We are grateful to the medical authorities, our host Association and the Zambian Mission in South Africa for having accorded us support throughout this ordeal.”
