Zambia coach remains hospitalised in South Africa as his team departs for a friendly against Angola
Moses Sichone remains in a South African hospital while his Zambian squad jetted out to Angola.
The Zambian coach was reported sick ahead of their friendly international against Bafana Bafana on Saturday in Gqeberha.
The coach and some of his staff members were given medical care after suspicion of food poisoning as they were gearing up for their game against Bafana Bafana.
"Following the reported incidences of suspected food poisoning by some members of the Zambia Men’s National Team on Saturday in South Africa, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to confirm that coach Moses Sichone, midfielder Miguel Chaiwa and video analyst Elias Chipota have been admitted to St George Private Hospital in Port Elizabeth,” FAZ said in a statement.
The Chipolopolo mother body General Secretary Machacha Shepande revealed that they are working closed with all stakeholders concerned to ensure their members receive the care they deserve.
“FAZ is working closely with its host Association and the local medical authorities to ensure that the affected receive the best possible medical attention.
“We are also happy that some of the cases reported in the team earlier have significantly improved with the affected parties being monitored."
