Zamalek suspend Nasser Mansi after APR FC winner
Despite his decisive role in Zamalek’s 1–0 victory over APR FC, Nasser Mansi has been subjected to disciplinary action.
On Saturday 17 October, the Egyptian club announced that Nasser Mansi had been suspended from training and referred to an disciplinary committee. The Egyptian striker made his mark on Friday 16 October during the first leg of the second qualifying round of the CAF Champions League, played in Kigali.
He scored the only goal of the match, giving Zamalek the upper hand ahead of the return leg. However, his celebration has now landed him in trouble. After scoring, Nasser Mansi took off his shirt and threw it on the ground. This gesture led the Cairo-based club’s management to take disciplinary action.
In a statement, Zamalek said that their manager, Moatamed Gamal, had decided to suspend the player from training sessions and refer him to an investigative committee.
