Youssef Belaili officially returns to Espérance Sportive de Tunis
Whilst the Tunisian club had announced the Algerian international’s departure a few weeks ago and MC Alger had, for its part, announced an agreement with the player, Belaili will ultimately continue his career in Tunisia.
Espérance Sportive de Tunis has officially announced the return of Youssef Belaili following the lifting by the Court of Arbitration for Sport of the sanction that had been imposed on him. In a statement, the club confirmed the player’s reinstatement following the reactivation of his contract.
“Espérance Sportive de Tunis announces the lifting of the sanction imposed on our player Youssef Belaili. Consequently, the contract he had previously signed with the club has been reactivated, making him eligible to rejoin the team and represent Espérance Sportive de Tunis. ”
The Youssef Belaili case caused a stir during the summer transfer window between Tunisia and Algeria. A few weeks ago, ES Tunis had officially announced the departure of the Algerian international. MC Alger subsequently announced an agreement with Belaili, suggesting that the striker was set to return to the Algerian league. However, the situation ultimately took a different turn.
