Young Chelsea player could end up in Serie A!
AS Roma is looking to strengthen their attacking flanks before the summer transfer window slams shut. The Italian club has officially approached London’s Chelsea regarding a possible move for winger Jamie Gittens.
Details: According to renowned Italian insider Alfredo Pedullà, Roma has submitted an official inquiry about a loan deal for the 22-year-old Englishman. The Roman side hopes to secure the player for the season, but Chelsea’s management is not yet ready to let him go, weighing up their squad depth for the upcoming campaign.
If the deal falls through, the “Giallorossi” will shift their focus to the domestic market, eyeing reinforcements within Serie A. Head coach Gasperini is reportedly dissatisfied with the depth on the wings and is putting pressure on the club’s hierarchy for swift improvements.
Jamie Gittens joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund and has made 27 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, notching one goal and five assists. According to Transfermarkt, the winger is valued at €30 million, and his contract with Chelsea runs until June 2032.
