Yoane Wissa reveals the inside story behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s arrival in the DR Congo national team

The Newcastle striker played a part in the West Ham defender’s decision to join the Leopards.

Thanks to his involvement, Wissa has helped strengthen the Democratic Republic of Congo national team’s squad with an experienced player competing at the highest level. He encouraged Wan-Bissaka, who was born in England and had already played for England’s youth teams, to represent the DR Congo on the international stage.

I spoke to him before a match two years ago, so there you go, I saw him take his time, he thought it through properly and today he’s with us. We’re very happy to have him with us.
