Today, Barcelona will face Real Sociedad in their 13th La Liga match of the season, but the Catalan team will be without one of their key players.
Details: Star winger Lamine Yamal has unexpectedly been left out of the match squad. According to the club’s official website, Yamal sustained a bruise during the Champions League game against Red Star Belgrade. While the injury isn’t serious, he is still experiencing pain.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old central defender Pau Cubarsí, who suffered multiple facial cuts in the same match, is set to start and will play with a protective mask.
Fermin Lopez will take Yamal’s spot in the starting lineup.
Reminder: Barcelona has scored 55 goals in 16 matches this season, marking their best offensive start in club history for this stretch. Hansi Flick’s team currently leads La Liga with 33 points.
