Yacine Brahimi remains hopeful of a final World Cup with Algeria
The Algerian winger remains optimistic as the announcement of the squad for this summer’s tournament approaches.
Yacine Brahimi, who took part in the 2014 World Cup, hopes to secure one final call-up with Les Fennecs for the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
In an interview with Ennahar TV, the Algerian international expressed his eagerness ahead of this eagerly awaited announcement. Having scored 9 goals and provided 14 assists this season with Al-Gharafa in Qatar, Yacine Brahimi says he feels ready to step up if the manager decides to put his trust in him.
I’ll be in front of my TV for the squad announcement. It’s my last chance to play in a World Cup, after 2014. Despite the competition, I feel ready. If not, I’ll be supporting my country, as always. If I’m called up, it would be a dream come true. I remain optimistic.
Yacine Brahimi hasn’t been called up to the Algerian national team for over a year. But the 36-year-old left winger insists he’ll support Algeria no matter what.
