Xabi Alonso is set to be announced as the new head coach of Real Madrid in the near future, and it’s already clear which tactical approach the team will follow under his guidance.

Details: According to The Telegraph, Xabi Alonso has no intention of moving away from the three-centre-back system that brought him so much success at Bayer Leverkusen.

This is precisely why Real Madrid is showing such strong interest in Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen. Alonso believes Huijsen is a perfect fit for his style of play.

The Spanish coach is also insisting that the club go head-to-head with Bayern and Barcelona in the race to sign Jonathan Tah.

Throughout the season, Real Madrid has been plagued by defensive injuries, making the back line a particular area of concern.

Reminder: Yesterday Real Madrid equalled their unwanted record by conceding 76 goals across all competitions this season.
