Wow! Vinícius Júnior had an agreement with Barcelona
Former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has unveiled shocking details about the Vinícius Júnior transfer saga.
Details: According to the club executive, who led Barcelona from 2014 to 2020 and was quoted by The Athletic, the Brazilian prodigy had a “preliminary agreement” with the Catalan giants before ultimately deciding to move to Madrid. Bartomeu confirmed that the club was in active talks with the player’s family and agents, and at one point, both sides had reached a fundamental agreement on the transfer.
However, despite Barcelona’s early progress, it was their eternal rivals who ultimately won the battle for the player. Explaining why Vinícius ended up in the Spanish capital, Bartomeu suggested that Real Madrid most likely made a more lucrative financial offer, outbidding Barcelona’s terms.
It’s worth noting that this season, the Brazilian has played 50 matches for Real across all competitions, scoring 21 goals and providing 14 assists.
Reminder: Álvaro Arbeloa candidly spoke about the fight and the “rat” in the dressing room.
