Álvaro Arbeloa breaks his silence. Coach opens up about the fight and the "rat" in the dressing room
At the press conference ahead of the crucial Matchday 35 La Liga clash against Barcelona, Álvaro Arbeloa delivered an emotional statement addressing the recent scandals within the squad.
Details: The head coach confirmed the altercation between Fede Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni during training, which led to the Uruguayan even being hospitalized. Arbeloa emphasized that the club acted swiftly and transparently, and both players have already admitted their fault and apologized—something he considers sufficient reason to close the topic.
Arbeloa refused to publicly criticize his players, stating they do not deserve a "public execution" after everything they have done for the club in recent years.
“The players admitted their mistake, expressed regret, and asked for forgiveness. For me, that is enough. I am not going to destroy them in public—over the years, they have shown me what it means to be a Real Madrid player.”.
Arbeloa cited the legendary Juanito as an example, noting that even the greatest Real icons made mistakes, but were loved for their complete commitment.
Arbeloa paid special attention to the “rats” within the club, calling the leak of information from the dressing room to the media a true betrayal of Real Madrid.
"When information from the dressing room gets to the press, that is a betrayal of Real Madrid. It really upsets me. Who is doing this? I don’t work for the CIA and I’m not going to blindly accuse any of the players," said the coach.
Arbeloa called for unity around the team ahead of the decisive battle, stressing that the club has shown resolve and transparency throughout this difficult situation.
Reminder: José Mourinho is determined to change the atmosphere at Real Madrid—he’s getting all the inside info from the dressing room.
