The Memphis Depay era at Corinthians has officially come to an end.

Details: Corinthians has made the final decision not to extend the contract of the 32-year-old Netherlands international forward. Club president Osmar Stabile refused to sign a new deal, despite protracted negotiations between the parties. As a result, Depay will no longer play for the Brazilian side.

Interestingly, as recently as July 26, both sides had reached an agreement on the main terms of the extension, and the final contract draft had been ready for several days. However, at the last moment, Corinthians' management changed its mind.

The club cited its financial condition as the main reason. In an official statement, Corinthians emphasized that the decision was made solely with the aim of maintaining balance and managing available resources responsibly.

Corinthians also thanked Depay for his contributions. During his time at the club, the Dutchman played 79 matches, scored 20 goals, and helped the team win three trophies — the Paulista Championship and the Brazil Cup in 2025, as well as the Brazilian Super Cup in 2026.

Reminder: Received official offer. Depay may leave Corinthians.
