Wow! RB Leipzig to sign World Cup hero goalkeeper
RB Leipzig have decided to resolve their goalkeeping situation by bringing in a familiar face.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig are on the verge of signing Norwegian goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland, who is set to replace the departing Péter Gulácsi.
The parties have already reached a verbal agreement and are now ironing out the final details of the deal, so the iconic "here we go" could be announced very soon.
Nyland’s arrival is directly linked to Gulácsi's departure. The Hungarian keeper will continue his career at Villarreal, while the Norwegian is set to fill his spot at the German club.
It’s worth noting that Ørjan Nyland has already played for RB Leipzig during the 2022/23 season. After his contract with Sevilla ended, the 35-year-old goalkeeper is currently a free agent.
Nyland also emerged as one of Norway’s standout heroes at the 2026 World Cup. He particularly shone in the round of 16 clash against Brazil, saving a penalty from Bruno Guimarães and making several crucial saves to help Norway sensationally reach the tournament quarter-finals.
