The organization has admitted errors in a letter sent to all 211 national federations.

Details: The International Federation of Association Football has officially apologized to all 211 associations under its umbrella. This came after an emergency FIFA executive meeting in Rabat, convened in the wake of the scandal surrounding the FIFA Forward Enterprise project.

The initiative called for the creation of a new commercial entity and the sale of 20% of its shares to private investors. The project, tied to the commercial rights for the World Cup and other FIFA tournaments, was valued at roughly $4.2 billion.

However, the proposal sparked major discontent due to a lack of transparency and insufficient consultation with national federations. After widespread criticism, the project was completely withdrawn.

In a letter sent to the associations, FIFA leadership acknowledged mistakes in both preparing and considering the initiative. The organization also pledged to conduct an internal review and present its findings at the next meeting.

It's worth noting that despite the erupting scandal, Secretary General Mattias Grafström and the board members have expressed full support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Reminder: Official: It has been revealed whether Infantino will remain FIFA president.
