Reports indicate that Benfica are currently in negotiations with 41-year-old former Manchester United and Sporting head coach Rúben Amorim. Amorim is the personal choice of the Eagles' president, Rui Costa.
Given that Mourinho’s move to Real is expected to happen soon, Lisbon is hoping to wrap up talks with Amorim before the start of the World Cup.
At the moment, Rúben Amorim is a free agent after being dismissed by Manchester United in January 2026.
