Vozinha has left his mark not only in football history, but also in marine biology.

Details: Spanish biologist Jesús Ortea has decided to name a newly discovered species of sea slug after Cape Verde national team goalkeeper Vozinha. The mollusk has been given the scientific name Aldisa vozinhai, which translates to Vozinha’s sea slug.

This unusual tribute was the scientist’s way of honoring Cape Verde’s sensational World Cup campaign, as well as the island nation’s commitment to marine biodiversity conservation.

Ortea was particularly impressed by Vozinha’s performance in the match against Spain. The veteran goalkeeper helped his team keep a clean sheet and became one of the standout heroes of Cape Verde’s historic World Cup debut.

It’s worth noting that Vozinha has been one of the breakthrough stars of this World Cup. At 40 years old, the goalkeeper has kept two clean sheets and set a historic tournament record.

Reminder: Incredible twist: Cape Verde's star goalkeeper could become Lionel Messi's teammate.
