Robinho Jr is ready to take the first major European step of his young career.

Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Genoa have reached a verbal agreement with Santos for 18-year-old Brazilian attacker Robinho Jr. The deal is set to be structured as a loan with an option to buy, while the player is already in Italy.

The breakthrough comes shortly after Santos rejected Genoa's previous proposal. Brazilian reports stated on August 27 that the earlier offer also involved a loan with a purchase option, but Santos were unhappy with the financial structure, particularly the request to continue covering part of the youngster's salary.

Now the negotiations have moved forward and the parties have reached a verbal agreement. Robinho Jr is the son of former Brazil international Robinho, who represented Real Madrid, Manchester City and AC Milan during his European career. The teenager came through the Santos academy and made his first-team debut in 2025.

It is worth noting that Santos renewed Robinho Jr's contract in April 2026 until March 30, 2031. According to Globo Esporte, the attacker has made 13 appearances for Santos this season and scored one goal, which came in a friendly. His last official appearance was on July 21 against UCV in the Copa Sudamericana.
