"World-class star, and one of many." Van der Vaart on the difference between Ronaldo and Mbappé
Former Real Madrid player Rafael van der Vaart compared Kylian Mbappé's start at the "Royal Club" to that of Cristiano Ronaldo experience during his time at the club.
Quote: "I don't think Mbappé feels like a welcome guest at Real. When you go from being the biggest player at a club, like he was at PSG, to being one of many, that's difficult. You have to learn to share the stage, and that's hard.
When Cristiano Ronaldo came to Madrid, everyone knew he would get whatever he wanted, such as free kicks or penalties. He immediately showed that he was the star. But with Mbappé, it's different, and I feel like he doesn't like that. He's used to being the star at PSG, but at Real, he's just one of the players, and that's very hard for him to accept," Van der Vaart told Goal.
Reminder: Yesterday, Real Madrid played a La Liga match against Atlético and lost 1-2. Mbappé missed a penalty in that match.
