Mbappé misses penalty, Real Madrid loses to Athletic Bilbao

On Wednesday, December 4, Athletic Bilbao hosted Real Madrid in a La Liga match on matchday 19.
In the 14th minute, Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring, but after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed. There were no further goals before the break.
At the start of the second half, Athletic took the lead through a goal from Berenguer. Real Madrid pushed forward in search of an equalizer, and in the 68th minute, they were awarded a penalty. However, Kylian Mbappé was unable to beat Bilbao's goalkeeper, missing the chance.
Madrid did manage to equalize ten minutes later but conceded again almost immediately. Athletic Bilbao held on to their lead and secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
Real Madrid remains on 33 points after 15 matches, sitting in second place in the table, four points behind Barcelona.
