World Boxing plans to allow federations to join their organization without exiting the IBA.

Details: World Boxing President Van der Vorst told Reuters that this is not a competition between World Boxing and the IBA, but rather about preserving boxing in the Olympics.

Quote: "I don't mind if a national federation wants to stay with other international federations. It's up to them. But they can still join World Boxing because we allow it. This is a transitional period, and you have to respect that everyone will be looking for what is in the best interest of their boxers," he said.

Van der Vorst added that everything possible must be done to ensure boxing remains in the Olympics and urged federations to wake up and start working.

Quote: "I hope they understand what’s at stake – federation finances, participation in multi-sport events, and, most importantly, the Olympic dreams of their own boxers," said the World Boxing president.

Reminder: Legendary American world champion Floyd Mayweather has stated that he is not planning to retire anytime soon.
