Wolverhampton win race against Manchester City for young talent

Top clubs always want to take the best and the most promising. But sometimes they are unable to win the battle against lower ranked teams.
For example, Manchester City and Tottenham have been eyeing Nantes defender Bastien Meupiyou, but according to L'Equipe, the 18-year-old will end up at Wolverhampton.
‘Wolves’ have agreed on the transfer of Meupiyou for the sum of five million euros, excluding bonuses and other various additional payments.
The young defender played only nine minutes for the main team of Nantes, mostly limited to matches for the reserve team and youth team. He made his European debut for the under-19 team, playing five games in the UEFA Youth League, among other things.
Meupiyou's contract with Nantes runs until the summer of 2025 and is essentially the French club's last opportunity to capitalise on his talent.
