Without any surprises. The finalists of the French Cup have been determined

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the 2nd and 3rd of April, two semi-final matches of the French Cup took place. Competing for a spot in the final were Lyon against Valenciennes and PSG against Rennes.

In the first semi-final encounter, Lyon simply outclassed Valenciennes. Although the first half of the match ended in a goalless draw, the hosts found their strength in the second half and defeated their opponents 3-0. Alexandre Lacazette scored a brace in the match, while another goal was secured by Gift Orban.

In the second semi-final, PSG hosted Rennes at home. In the two previous editions of the French Cup, PSG was eliminated in the round of 16, so they were clearly eager to bring the title back to Paris. The fate of this match was determined by the lone goal scored by Kylian Mbappé in the 40th minute of the game. The Parisians calmly maintained their advantage and secured their place in the final of the French Cup.

The final between Lyon and PSG will take place on May 25th.
