Winds of change. Arne Slot holds talks with new club

Slot could be on his way back to the Netherlands.

Details: According to Mike Vermeij, the Ajax Amsterdam management has held preliminary talks with Liverpool’s 47-year-old head coach Arne Slot.

It is reported that Ajax’s leadership wants Slot at the helm should he leave Liverpool at the end of the current season. At the moment, there is no official word on Slot’s departure, but if he fails to secure Champions League qualification for Liverpool next season, the Reds’ management could part ways with the Dutchman.

Currently, Ajax is led by former youth team coach Oscar García, but his tenure is seen by the club’s board as a temporary solution.

Arne Slot’s contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2027, with no news yet regarding a possible extension.
