Although the defender has resumed training with the Algeria squad, his availability remains uncertain.
Doubts remain over Ramy Bensebaïni’s availability for Les Fennecs’ first World Cup match. Having suffered an ankle injury last April but included in Petkovic’s squad for the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the Algerian international is unlikely to be fit to start the tournament.
Despite returning to team training, Bensebaïni will not be fit for Algeria’s opening match. The defender is ruled out of the game against Argentina on 17 June, according to reports from TyC Sports. Vladimir Petković is therefore expected to rely on other members of his squad.
