Will he be able to play? New details about Boniface's condition after car crash revealed Lars Baron/Getty Images

New details have emerged regarding Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface's condition following the car accident he was involved in last week.

Details: Three days after the crash, the first photos of the Leverkusen star surfaced. BILD captured the Nigerian at the club's stadium on Tuesday. It was noticeable that following the Sunday accident, he had bandages on his left arm and right leg.

Fortunately, Boniface managed to avoid serious injuries, and it can be said that he escaped with just a scare.

Despite this good fortune, he will definitely miss the Champions League match against Brest (Wednesday, October 23, at 18:45). The forward was absent from the team's training session on Tuesday and did not travel with his teammates to Brittany.

Bayer's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, provided an update on Boniface's condition on Tuesday:

Quote: "He is already doing better. It’s a tough situation, and there's no doubt that it needs some time to process. Of course, we are all very happy that nothing serious happened to him. It was not a small accident. Luckily, it didn't have serious consequences," said Rolfes.

Reminder: Bayer currently sits in fourth place in the Bundesliga after seven rounds, trailing Bayern Munich by three points.
