Deontay Wilder suffered a knockout defeat in his last fight against Zhang Zhilei, sparking rumors that the American might retire.

However, his manager, Shelly Finkel, stated that his protégé has no plans to end his career, though he currently has no further comments on the matter.

Notably, Wilder's trainer, Malik Scott, publicly addressed the "Bronze Bomber's" loss to Zhang Zhilei (27-2-1, 22 KO) for the first time.

On June 1, the "Bronze Bomber" suffered a definitive loss to Zhang Zhilei. The Chinese boxer secured a commanding victory over the American with a knockout in the fifth round. Overall, Wilder has lost four out of his last five fights.

The Chinese fighter didn't miss the chance and, after the first punch, landed a second. Wilder fell to the canvas, and although he managed to get up, the referee stopped the bout and awarded a technical knockout victory to Zhilei.

Previously, promoter Eddie Hearn also shared his opinion on Deontay's defeat to Zhang. Promoter Frank Warren remarked after Deontay's defeat that he should have retired after his second loss to Fury.
