"In this case, it's less effective." Thierry Henry points out Haaland's weakness
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry shared his thoughts on Manchester City star Erling Haaland following the team's heavy 5-1 defeat at the Emirates.
Henry believes the Norwegian striker becomes invisible when his team doesn’t dominate possession.
Quote. "I wouldn't be able to handle (the lack of service) and just wait; something would happen. I would force my way through to get the ball, touch it, do something.
The whole team is regressing, not just Haaland. We all know that Erling struggles if his team doesn’t control the game. He is less effective than a player who can make runs in behind. If his team dominates, we all know he will score however he wants.
If your strength is speed, why don't you use it? Why not run in behind? We recently saw Alexander Isak here, tormenting Gabriel all game," the Daily Mail quotes Henry.
Background. Haaland touched the ball just six times in the first half but managed to equalize with a brilliant header after the break.
However, City's joy was short-lived, as Thomas Partey restored Arsenal's lead just a minute later, before Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz, and Ethan Nwaneri completed the rout.
