Who will replace Alonso? Bayer considers Cesc Fàbregas as a candidate

Bayer's management has begun the search for a new head coach. After Xabi Alonso officially announced he would be leaving Bayer at the end of the season, Leverkusen has turned its attention to Cesc Fàbregas.
According to Marca, the current manager of Italian side Como has become the leading candidate for the top job at the German club. Bayer believes that Cesc, whose football philosophy closely mirrors Alonso's style, could be the perfect fit to continue the club's project in Leverkusen.
Fàbregas caught the eye of Europe's top clubs thanks to his successful stint in Serie A. His Como side, which earned promotion from Serie B last season, is currently sitting mid-table.
However, despite interest from more illustrious teams, Fàbregas is in no rush to leave Como. The Spaniard is not only the head coach but also one of the club's co-owners, and he has set his sights on leading the team to European competition.
