West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá has been under scrutiny by the English Football Association (FA) for some time, as the FA investigates possible betting-related activities linked to his gameplay. Now, the Brazilian faces yet another charge.
Details: According to The Sun, during the investigation, the FA confiscated Paquetá’s phone, prompting him to purchase a new device. After his original phone was returned, he discarded it, only for the FA to later request it back. Paquetá was then unable to locate the device, creating further complications for the midfielder, who now faces additional charges for obstructing the investigation, on top of accusations related to deliberately receiving yellow cards.
Reminder: Previously, Paquetá was charged with intentionally receiving yellow cards in four Premier League matches between November 2022 and August 2023. Hearings for the case are set to begin in March 2025, and the Brazilian could face a lifetime ban from football.
