Marc-André ter Stegen joined Girona on loan but did not feature much due to an injury. The club have now provided an update on his condition.

Details: According to the club, the German goalkeeper will undergo surgery on Friday, 6 February, after sustaining a hamstring injury. The length of his absence will be determined after the operation.

It is also worth noting that Ter Stegen will not return to Barcelona and will remain at Girona, where his contract runs until June 2026. The loan spell will last until the end of the summer.

Reminder: Ter Stegen joined Girona on a six-month loan from Barcelona in January. He managed to play only two matches for the red-and-whites before being sidelined by injury.
