What a twist! Turkish club turns down Salah
Mohamed Salah was on the verge of joining Beşiktaş, but the Istanbul club's coaching staff decided to take a completely different direction.
Details: Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı revealed a surprising detail about the failed transfer of the Egyptian superstar. According to him, head coach Vincenzo Italiano and his staff were initially against signing Salah, and the president had to make considerable efforts to try to change their minds.

Adalı explained that in the end, the club turned down the deal not only because of the coaching staff's stance. Salah's financial demands also did not align with Beşiktaş's principles and initial transfer strategy.
Moreover, the president emphasized that if Beşiktaş had signed Salah, the club would not have been able to bring in Dušan Vlahović—the very Serbian striker Italiano wanted for his squad. In the end, Vlahović did indeed become a player for the Istanbul side.
Salah ultimately continued his career at Trabzonspor, so one of Beşiktaş's most high-profile potential transfers of the summer never materialized.
Reminder: The transfer is getting closer! Salah and Núñez could soon be teammates again.
